A CPT push unit that expands the capacity of an existing or new CPT machine, reducing ground friction through sonic vibration.
The SonicCPT pusher 200 kN is ideal for expanding the capacity of a new or existing CPT machine. The sonic option greatly reduces friction along the CPT rods and allows passage through hard layers, making it possible to perform static CPT beneath those layers. The system allows both conventional and sonic CPT; ground friction is reduced through superimposed vibration between 50-150 Hz.
Being deployable as an additional sonic module without replacing the existing CPT machine provides a significant cost advantage, particularly in formations where standard static push falls short, such as compacted sand, gravelly layers or weakly cemented rock.
