Gouge Auger Set for Stepwise Sampling
A stepwise sampling set for profile research (nitrate research) in soils with somewhat higher penetration resistance. Contains three two-piece gouge augers of different diameters.
The set consists of three two-piece gouge augers of different diameters. Sampling starts with the largest-diameter gouge, then proceeds with progressively smaller diameters, preventing cross-contamination between samples. The gouges are 40, 30 and 20 mm in diameter, with a 30 cm net length.
Gouge augers can be pushed into the ground or driven in with an impact-absorbing hammer. Thanks to the short working length and decreasing diameters, the set is best suited to profile research (nitrate research) in soils with somewhat higher penetration resistance — for example, sampling the top of arable land down to 90 cm depth.
