Grass Plot Sampler — Ø 23 mm
A 23 mm diameter grass plot sampler, a gouge-auger-family tool for the top soil layers. 5 or 10 cm working length, 95 cm total length.
These stainless-steel gouge augers, available in different sizes, consist of an auger tube, a collecting bucket, and a steel-handled shaft. The auger tube is filled by stepping on the collecting bucket. Thanks to the tube's conical shape, the sample is easily pushed toward the collecting trough when the next sample is taken — making it easy to take samples while walking.
The correct number of samples per hectare depends on crop type, terrain slope and soil type; grassland typically requires 30 samples per hectare.
This auger type allows quick sampling of the top 5 or 10 centimetres of grass-covered areas for root and/or fertilization research. The grass plot sampler is used particularly in grassland farming research, as well as in horticulture and park management. Non-toxic stainless-steel construction, suitable for air-borne deposit sampling too.
